He is best known as the lead singer and primary arranger of the progressive folk powerhouse Bellowhead, which has achieved a quarter of a million album sales, seven singles on the Radio 2 playlist, and sold out hundreds of venues, including the iconic Royal Albert Hall.
Jon founded his band The Remnant Kings in 2009, originally to perform the album ‘Songs from the Floodplain,’ the first in his post-apocalyptic trilogy. The performances combined the post-oil concept of the album with other songs that might survive the apocalypse. In this genre-defying mix, Jon Boden & The Remnant Kings delivered concerts where folk songs, Bach, pop, and jazz all intermingled with Jon’s original compositions. This eclectic blend was further enhanced by the use of two wax cylinder players on stage, which played specially recorded material.
